2Din Radio In Lexus Is200

Good evening,

Since I bought my IS200 the CD-player is broken.

That is the reason I maybe will buy a double din radio.

From different Lexus-forums I understood that I will need the next stuff:

- Double din radio (of course)

- Double din frame

- Parrot-cable from a Landcruiser (ISO): a cable like this(?):

After installation the double din radio should work with the OEM amplifier and hifi.

My question is: Am I right?

Hi there,

I have an aftermarket 2din head unit in mine, it depends on whether you have the amplified version or not, if you have the amplifier (located on the passenger side behind the glove box, you will need an adapter (eBay jobbie) and this plugs straight into the amplifier, then from there straight into an OEM head unit, if you have sat nav it is a separate problem and you need to do some bodging! (i have managed it though so ask if you need a hand)

Alex Kay, are you saying you have an aftermarket head unit running through your oem amp? I was of the opinion that this was the holy grail for us is200 owners as until now I have only ever heard of amp bypass cables. Can you let me know where you got your cable from.

the whole point of that cable is to bypass the amp.. and if you have bought a good enough haed unit, that itself should have a better amp built into it anyways...i have a pioneer unit in mine with the bypass cable obviously and the sound quality is brilliant, definately a good shout!!!!

Just out of interest, I am going to be replacing the HeadUnit in my IS200 and obviously need the bypass cable...

Could anyone recommend a good one at a cheap price from experience?
