Is200 Stereo Swop

Hello, I'm at my last hope here, I have a 1999 is200 sport with the standard stereo, tape, Radio and 6 cd multi player, I inherited the ERR3 code and finally replaced it with a new sony cd player...The problem begins:

Everything is refer to Lexus, Trying to avoid re mortgaging my house I have done some hunting, I have found a reasonable housing face plate to fit the gap of the old huge stereo, This is good, However the Lexus standard plug doesn't match, I have ordered from Halfords, Motorworld and many other's being told 'They have the one' To dissapointment of it not fitting, Refer to Lexus main dealer.....

I have spoken to Lexus Cardiff, Who have told me that they only make stereo plugs for Lexus cars to Lexus stereo's, Make sense to me, I have then paid professionally to have the wires chopped and fitted without a plug....a phone call later, You'd better have a look...

It appears in Lexus's wisdom they have fitted there standard stereo with an external amplifier, Which reads everything, But a non Lexus stereo, Hence my Sony cd player, Their wiring is not colour coded in the usual form and will not allow an astronaught in deep trouble to decifer.

I'm sending flares up here people!, How do I simply fit my Sony CD player by wire into my lame is200, I cannot source the correct plugs, Lexus cannot help, My auto electrician is lost, But I know you people, Someone has had to deal with this petty process?....Help me please....

It's a fairly simple thing you need, check eBay for is200 autoleads amp bypass cable.

The Lexus stereo system (as you've worked out) isn't using standard wiring, where your sony stereo will.

If you get the cable I mention above, it plugs into the cable that leads to the lexus amp behind the glovebox and terminates in a standard iso plug that will fit your sony stereo.

Take out the glove box, unplug the amplifier from the far side, connect that to the bypass lead, which then plugs into your stereo. Simples.
