Clutch Squeak

I have a 5 yr old IS220d low mileage(50k). Clutch has developed a squeak when the pedal is pressed down. It started doing it just when it was cold but has now started doing it when warm too. It sounds like a squeaky spring. Any ideas what's causing it? Hoping for a cheap easy fix otherwise the car's going - fed up of expensive problems with it!

Got the cheap fix ... a can of WD40 did the job! Squeak has gone & clutch feels lighter.... so the car gets to stay for now!

i had the same but wd40 cured it just for one week :(

Is it just the pedal or the clutch Release (Slave) cylinder which is attached to the gearbox?

I had something similar on my old Subaru. Some grease on the rod as it passed through the dirt seal on the slave cylinder would shut it up for several months.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

I have just had this issue sorted by a Lexus dealer near me in Essex as I could not put up with the squeak any longer. I am now £1,500 lighter for it!

The clutch is fixed to a fly wheel which are both still under patten, so you can't get from anywhere but a main dealer!

Clutch £863.00 and the fly wheel £925.00!!!!

When the dealer see my eyes popping out in rage they reduced it to £1500.00 which I was still not happy about.

However, my car does not squeak anymore or do I have trouble getting it in reverse anymore.

sorry, I know old post, but you paid what? Eurocarparts have the clutch kit at £198 and flywheel at £838, even found a new clutch an flywheel on eBay for £795.

Still a lot though, my clutch squeaks too, but I hope it doesn't come to this, but a lexus dealer won't be touching my car at those prices.

I'm experiencing the same issue on my 2006 IS220d and considering having my dealer have a look at it.

Is it possible the squeeky clutch problem is similar to what the guy in this video is fixing on a Corolla?
