Hi,

I am in the process of buying a GS 450h SE-L or SE.

I have had a testdrive in an SE and was very impressed, I also have friends with Lexus's (or Lexi, however you term the prural....) who only have good things to say about the build quality and general performance.

I am currently deciding between a late 2006 SE-L with a sunroof and a early 2007 SE without the sunroof. Ideally I would prefer an SE-L as I like the sound of the Mark Levinson audio and radar cruise control with brake assist (should it come to it).

However, I come in at a lanky 6ft 4 and have read elsewhere that the driver's headroom with the sunroof is a bit tight. The car is far enough away that I would prefer to travel to buy (if it is as good as it looks), but can't find anything definitive as to whether the top of my head will be poking out the sunroof or whether I will be able to manage albeit with a little less clearance then the usual punter.

Do any tall drivers have any experience with the SE-L with the sunroof?

Any advice on what to look out for when buying would also be appreciated and I look forward to keeping up in the future once I have acquired a nice shiny GS.

Luke.

Hi there, I'm a little above 5ft 10 (maybe a longer body than most) and have no sun roof..

With the seat all the way down, I have one fist width (3.5 inches) of room spare above my head. I've read that the correct way to fit yourself to a car is to have one fist width clearance.

So that would suggest I am the max height for this car. However, the head rest is raised fully and is slightly too low in my opinion.

If you like to have you seat reclined more than me you may fit.

The obvious suggestion would be to get to a dealership and sit in one of the cars.

I wouldnt have wanted the sun roof anyway. It only adds weight at exactly the worst place rasing the center of gravity. However, auto cruse control would have been a nice feature to have.

I'm pretty sure the Mark Levinson audio is standard on the SE of that age, I may be wrong. It's in mine but may be an option.

You certanly cant go wrong with one of these cars. They are alot of car for the money, and with the reliabilty too. To good to miss with the prices as low as they are. A steel, if you fit.

Hi Luke, I am 6'2" and own a GS450h SE L with sunroof, got to say I have never even thought headroom to be a issue, the power seats have so much adjustment so will go low, matched to the steering wheel adjustment. I have driven mine up to 850 miles in a day and never felt un comfortable and in fact will not buy a car without a sunroof.

Regards Tony
