Heater Controls

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to remove the sat/nav heater controls from a mk4 and then install the controls from a mk3.

The reason I ask is that I prefer the mk3 layout

Hello and welcome to the LOC.

Anything is possible if you have the time money and expertise but given the climate control and audio systems are I believe controlled via the touchscreen it would not be any easy job. I am an electronics enginereer and would have serious reservations tackling such a project.

There is a low mileage Mark 4 for sale on the famous website which bizarely has the Mark 3 type heater controls

The mk3 controls will fit , and sort of work , but not actually control anything (although appear to function).

The route I had to take in the same circumstance was to import from America the non sat nav from a mk4.

only drawback is the LCD and controls are back to front (Left hand drive remeber!), but if you know what the buttons and display do normally it makes no difference.

There is non sat nav right hand drive mk4 out there , whether it is Europe or Japanese spec they are very rare.

I have 1998 ls400 without satnav and I bought that from Ireland, right hand drive car as well. Surely it cannot be so rare combination?
