Master Key Replacement

Hello All - I am new to this forum but hoping someone can help. We have a 2009 SC which came with 2 master keys of which I unfortunately have lost one - Lexus are quoting me 233 for a replacement key and an additional 50 for cutting and reprogramming it - has anyone had any luck with finding a cheaper alternative for this model year or there abouts?

I looked online and there are some suggestions and instructions on how to reprogram a key yourself (once you have found one) but these appear to be for earlier cars only....

I had a key cut for our SC, but we still had the electronics for the buttons.

There is a guy on eBay that says he can do it all for around £40 but I dont know if anyone has tried him.

Yeah I unfortunately dont have the electronics/innards available - do you have username/link for the eBay chap?

I cant believe how much they want for that!!

You say that you still have a master key? all they need to do is order a complete cut key and programme it.

We would charge £135 all in for that!! the retail price for the key itself (89070-24251-84)is £104.59 inc vat

Which dealer are you from? I meant to come back here and update my post in case anyone ends up in a similar position. BTW Yes I had the Master key.

Here are some of the prices I recieved - one I havent listed below which was Lexus Durham? quoted me in excess of £320

Needless to say I went to Sheffield and they were very good - gave me a very competitively priced service plan quote so I think we will be taking the car their going forward. Highly Recommended.
