Hi folks

Can anyone please tell me how much the 37,500 mile service for an IS200 should cost? and if possible, what is involved for the money?

there isnt a 37,500 service - (but i did get a letter from a dealer asking if i wanted a 37,500 service) its a 40 K service and that cost me about 150.

they just told me that it would be £380 and I wanted to know what on earth they did for the cash??

If it will cost that much then buy a 2 service pre-paid plan. For a used IS200 it will cost £460.

If your going to pay £380 for one service it means you are only paying £80 for the other one.

just had a 40k service and it was £303 inc everything ! bargain !

Lexus brighton = mot + 40k service + 10 % gold discount = £320 inclusive

bargin top job and as good as new, lots of things filled and replaced. its about a 2 hour job.

labour was half this at £55 hr (£110) and rest was parts + extra 1 hr for MOT + vat. 3 hours in total think this was a fair price. and free coffee and doughnuts (mmmmm) as well as valeted inside and out. why else would we choose this make of car..??? :D

£55 labour per hour is good. That's what Toyota Guildford charge, Lexus Guildford however are around £80.

Phone a few dealers and compare the price. If you live in London, take it as a day trip and get your car servicesd in places like Oxford, Reading etc. Labour charges in London is crazy.

when I called about once, a "minor" service was about £100 and "major" about £200 I think!

odds are minor, evens major. Then also if they have to replace anything else, its more.

have just had 50000 service and it was £87.19 i thought that was good until they then said i needed a four wheel alignment check of £80 aswell as four new tyres it did not turn out that cheap in the end ;)

My dealer recommended that I got this done elsewhere as they would be very expensive due to their high labour rates

I was under the impression that the 40k was a major service. My sport is coming up to 38k and I was told by a dealer that it must be serviced at 10k intervals, or 12 months. Now my 12 months come up end of august and I'm not going to do 2k. The quotes certainly seem to be different area, to area.

40K is more of a major service than say a 30K one. Even if the car has only 20k and is 4 years old then it will have 40k service.

Mine had a 10K and 20K within about 4 months of each other due to selling and buying etc and the deal I got. Was good in a way but also meant that I am way out on mileage!

Price wise, they do differ quite a bit. I think (in the south) Southampton it the cheapest, but do not do GOLD discount and are not that great!

Reading are pretty good though.
