New Gs300 Owner With Sat Nav Question

Just bought a UK 2006 GS300 in Mesa Red this week and looking forward to a few years of comfortable, stylish driving and the LOC seemed like a good first stop :-)

I assume the Sat Nav disc is still the original and was wondering how much it costs to upgrade to the latest version. Is it best to get in touch with a Lexus dealer or will they charge an arm and a leg? Can independent dealers do it as well? Also do the new discs upgrade the firmware or just the maps themselves.

Thanks for any help in advance

Karl

Hi Karl

New maps are really only available from Lexus, or second hand from eBay. They are quite expensive. Direct from Lexus Europe can save you a few pounds compared to a dealer.

If there is a firmware update required it is contained on the disc and will be automatically applied. Entering destinations whilst moving tended to be locked out until around 2009 so you should see that change when you update.
