I'm not sure whether these problems are related, but here goes:

My daughter was trying to open the rear passenger door whilst I was operating the remote, and now neither the remote nor the internal switch will open or close the lock. After this occurred, the flashers don't flash when using the remote.

I have replaced the Battery in the remote, and whilst it performs all the functions, still doesn't flash the indicators, nor open the rear door lock.

My guess is a sticky door solenoid, but not so sure about the flashers - I've searched the site today, but nothing jumps out - any ideas?.

Cheers

Pete

Hello Pete,

have you tried to lock and unlock the rear door from the central locking switch on the drivers door? If you can operate the lock from here it will discount the sticky solenoid theory.

If you still don't have any luck with this method maybe you could try disconnecting the Battery for a while to reset the system.

Good luck.

Steve.

Sounds like the door lock motor, if one of the door locks malfunction it throws the remote locking system out so could explain the indicators not flashing as normal.

Problem you have now is opening the door to repair the lock, it may be worth giving the door a thump whilst trying the unlock button to see if it will operate.

I am guessing here but i had a simular problem on my old range rover .here goes if you can lock all the doors by turning the key WITH THE BONNET OPEN, if yes do so and undo Battery for about half an hour.DO NOT LEAVE KEYS IN THE CAR.RE connect the Battery and close bonnet and try fob .hope it helps

I can still unlock the door manually by the button on the door, so I'd guess it's the lock motor.

Pete

When you lock the doors remotely can you hear the motor turning in the affected door if you put your ear to the internal panel?

Just wondering if the combination of the remote activation and your daughters manual operation of the lock button at the same time may have resulted in one of the control rods dislocating.
