Sat Nav In Europe

Hi, has anyone used the Lexus Sat Nav in Europe? I get my car on 1st September and want to drive straight to Paris (ok I know it's probably only 2 roads from the M25) but as I've never used it how detailed is the info. Does it go low level in Europe, display distances in Klicks or miles etc etc.

I drove all the way to Cologne in Germany and back again and it was spot on.

You can choose wether you want Miles or Km's through the set up menus

I used mine in France (the CD-based system) - was spot on. You'll prolly be getting the DVD system, which I hear is even better

Use mine going to Spain, worked perfectly, you just have to select the country you want to go first, for example France - Paris - your target location then the GPS will trace the route to reach it.

Funny, but if you set carrefully the mid average speed on your setting the ETA showed by the GPS is pretty accurate.

BTW, don't it the "shortest" travel choice, or you will trace a route full of really small roads...

PS: take care about your speed and hide your speed detector, illegal in France, and lately we're full of speed controls.

Used in France earlyer this year (in our mark one RX) and it was just fab!

Very detailed arount Paris, made us brave and went into the centre with ease and found our way back out no prob.

Funniest thing was the Arc De Triomphe. As we approached the sat nav said 'Roundabout coming up' UNDERSTATEMENT!!! Then 'heading left at the roundabout, take 10th exit'!!!!!!!!!!

Made us laugh! The other thing which is a bit strange is all the place names must only be stored once of the DVD so when you get the 'take exit off motorway towards XXX the town is in a french accent. You will hear it when you get close to 'Paarie'.
