Wheel Colour

Hi,

I have a 2000 lexus is200, the car is lovely and is in good condition both mechanically and in appearance, but my wheels have a pretty major case of corrosion.

I am going to strip the wheels back and refurb them myself but I can't for the life of me find out what colour they are or a paint code, I have rang Lexus who said wheels don't have a paint code and I have trawled the net and I have found nothing helpful so hoping that somebody here might have an idea of the colour.

I will put pictures of the wheels on here later so you can all get a better idea of the colour but for now the colour is like a dark greyish browny blueish colour and is an original factory colour.

Hope somebody can help me out and shed some light on the problem.

Thanks

Chris

Yeah these things are a wee bit tricky.

I asked Lexus about my wheels...."there is no colour ref or touch up kit available" hurrumphhhh.

Only had a couple of teeny weeny blips on my wheels. Last weekend I set to in attempting a solution! I blended aluminium paint with a teeny bit of black and a tad of dark blue. All mixed in a wine bottle cap. By the 6th mix it was looking good and with a coat of clear lacquer over the top it was near spot on. Dead chuffed.

For you it is easier, just choose a colour you like and away you go. Keep some back for touch up work though!

I'll be very surprised if you get a paint reference from Lexus.

@Normski,

Thanks for the reply and I like the colour matching idea.

Yea I can do the wheels any colour but I like the colour they are, really suits the car I think, plus the colour ties in with the interior colours

Really liking the paint matching idea and might have to be the way to go, thankyou very much!
