Strut Brace Question

Do they make a noticeable difference? Was watching one on eBay the other day that went cheap. Couldn't bring myself to do it though after just forking out for springs, wheels and tyres, tax and insurance this month!

Uprating anti-roll bars make a HUGE difference to handling - but a strut brace on it's own? Possibly not. You might notice the extra stiffness after doing a couple of things (like new springs etc). I definitely think they are of benefit if you have other suspension mods too.

I have strut braces but also have Eibach springs and roll bars and it handles so much better. Probably wouldn't have bothered if they weren't second hand and cheap but I am pleased with the overall result. I just need some proper alignment done now but don't live close to any of the real experts sadly.

Last time I checked there was 4 different strut braces for the lexus and last time I checked upper or top mount ones were just for looks but lower or wishbone or sub frame strut braces do a great job for making the car stiffer but it makes the car to stiff for normal road driving and should really only be fitted onto track cars as on the road with them a small bump can make the car go wild and if the car is lowered thay car cause problems with speed bumps.

had strut braces front & rear on my Lowered IS200 Sport, sounds odd but never noticed the difference when they where fitted but when I took them off to sell the car i could then tell they wasn't on & it felt a bit wallowy.
certainly in future i would spend the money on uprated ARB's
