Starter Motor Replacement And Lpg

Recommended Posts

Thread resurrection - thanks to Mr Savage who recommended his garage in Sandbach, I had the job done for £250. Really pleased with the price, quality and relief at finding a garage who were happy to do the job with LPG fitted. It was a lot of unbolting and bolting together but I now have confidence again when turning the key!

Very good price indeed!

Was that with a new starter or did you just buy the kit??

I know that my mechanic here in Sandbach would be able to sort this out for you. He has quite a bit of experience with these cars and also with LPG systems. Let me know if this is something you'd like to follow up and I'll post his name/number etc. I know that Angel123 has also used him and can vouch for his service.

Hi JPJsavage, I just bought my dream car an LS 400, and just after a month or so it looks like the starter motor has packed up same problem as described in this thread but not LPG. Can you give me the contact details of this mechanic in Sandbach so I can somehow get the car to him to fix for me as his £250 repair cost sounds more reasonable than the several hundreds I am seeing around...Thanks in advance for your help..

Hi Gorodish, any chance you can pass the details of this mechanic on to me as I desperately need to get my started sorted asap to use my LS400 which I have had for only a couple of months. Same starter problem but not LPG as yours..thanks in advance

Not sure either - anyway it was nice to meet Miles - a really good mechanic. Starter has been 100% since.

Just got back from a fault free 1600 mile tour round France in the Lex - I reckon 15p a mile on gas! Despite this and loving the car, I think she'll be up for sale soon, just fitted new cam belt and water pump too......but need something a bit less auto and large as Mrs Gorodish doesn't like driving her... no cracks about selling her instead please, in all other ways she's a keeper!!
