Evening Chaps was wondering if any of you have purchased this item or anything similar to this. Also is it compatible with ML sound systems and will I still be able to use the CD charger as well as this little device?

rx400h 2005 se-l Mark-Levinson audio

I currently use the tape 3.5 stereo pin converter but it does always work well its crackly noise and power sound quality has me losing patience! It also doesn't like winter temperatures.

Thanks

I have one of these:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Grom-Audio-iPhone-iPod-Car-Integration-Kit-1998-2012-Lexus-Toyota-Scion-/300884987122?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item460e248cf2#ht_2068wt_1203

The Grom is a pretty popular addition across most models.

There is also the Dice unit:

http://www.take-and-talk.co.uk/Lexus-iPod-iPhone-music-integration-kit-from-Dice-Electronics-p-17078.html

I got one before I bought the Grom but it took ages to arrive so I bought the Grom unit which then turned up the day after the other was fitted.

Ive tried both (which were exactly the same in terms of quality and usability, I just could be bothered to put the Dice back in.

Its sitting in the Garage and yours for £50 plus a couple of quid for postage if you are interested?

Thanks Jason

I got excited for a few seconds there because you are in Surrey thought I could actually have it this weekend but then your item is iPod/apple only. I was hoping for something like I just put a storage device usb stick memory card into it and equipped with the aux stereo pin that would plug into my smart phone that is alway mounted on the dash. Also because my car has the Navigation I will need a 6x6 Y cable to merge the CDC changer and the Navi. Do you have any or all of these things?

it has one cable for the ipod, and hen an aux in, so lead from phone/whatever straight into it..

'Gives you the ability to connect your iPod through the stereo, and has a 3.5mm Auxiliary input as standard, so and external audio device (CD and DVD players) a non apple Mp3 players can be connected'

where in surrey are you?

My RX has nav and worked fine....

Round Byfleet Woking area and you? The idea of plugging a usb stick or portable harddrive really has me gunning for the Yatour device, I dont understand why the iPod ones are so expensive compare to the vesertile Yatour. Is you RX ML sound system?

Not that it matters, but since I bought the RX the weather ha been so **** I havent had the chance to detail properly and go up to Epsom Downs and take a nice photo of it for my profile picture.

That said, I could change it to a stunning underwear model-but it wont mean I'm driving that either...

I looked into the problem of adding mp3/ipod input to my rx300 mk2 and decided that the car is such a nice design it would be a shame to pull it to pieces. I have instead got one of these, I have loaded all my music files to it and tuned a spare fm button to it.

Its a far cheaper and neater solution to the problem, and its works really well.

Interesting solution, when you say a neater solution- I have an ipod cable in my glovebox with the ipod connected to it- all out of sight- not something sticking out of the cigarette lighter socket...

It is cheaper in any means - what is the point having premium audio system and play FM transmitted music?

I have to second the majority opinion on this one.

1 - Neater is out of sight no my Smart phone sticking on the dash is about as much things sticking out as I can handle. >.<

2 - Using the Lexus standard Audio system controls is super neat and super slick, better that another cluster of buttons.

3 - The FM receiver no matter how clear the sound just doesn't turn me one, well unless am DJing for an entourage that would be awesome.

Specifically about the product

1 - Ease of install :)

2 - Very portable :)

3 - LCD screen :)

4 - Max 4GB is just unacceptable :(

5 - The killer feature has to be PRICE wow

I have doubts on its quality/durability? How long have you had it, because I may just buy one for laughs. lol I can see myself seating in the back-seat using the remote to changing tracks but then again I could just route the audio from the ICE to the main sound system.

PS: Jason lets get super model profile pix.

i did install this one:

http://www.multimedialinq.com/vml.php

i've got 160 GB HDD, on 4 partitions, reads MP3,WAV and FLAC files - three different types of playlists - by Album, by Artist and one that contains all songs on the partition.

Supports USB and iDevices (regardless of the connector).

Did also the hack with the DVD and music folders to be seen in motion.

That is some big boy system you got there. Where in the car have you installed it? This system takes the cake whats it cost?

I bought it from the states (on ebay) - and it was 150US$ (incl. the HDD) New is 250$ w/o the HDD

It is sitting in the glovebox, and since I don't need the lighter - I've replaced it with USB socket (and that is the only sign anything is changed, nothing is to be seen inside the cabin).

There is a way to add music to the HDD from the USB in the car, but i prefer to do it on the PC, that's why it sits in the glove compartment. Otherwise you can put it behind the audio system and fasten with velcro tapes.

  • 2 weeks later...

Today I installed the Yatour Digital Music changer and I am over the moon with the sound quality that coming from my Samsung Galaxy Nexus the the AUX port of the Unit it really bring the ML sound system to life tomorrow I will try some MP3 playback from usb stick and memory card.

Only thing you need to know is when buying the unit also buy the Y splitter cable and if you are going to use the AUX port get a longer 3.5mm stereo pin cable and if you want blue-tooth audio streaming there is mini usb port on the unit to which the blue-tooth receiver plugs in. Might just consider that cherry on top.

I know that this post is now over two years old but I am trying to find the Y splitter for the Yatour M07 and I really don't want to buy the wrong one.

I have this in my amazon basket: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00JM24KNK?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_act_title_1&smid=A3B7JPVQGD2HV2

but can't seem to find a Y splitter anywhere.

Many thanks.
