I was just driving through town, when the Check Eng warning came on. I stopped, had a quick look, found nothing amiss. Started back up and everything is back as it should be. Checked hand book, where it says something wrong with electrical system. From what I have checked up to now, cannot find anything wrong. the warning has come only once. Can anyone out there shed any light on this. Many thanks for any advise given.

Hi

Check Engine Light covers a multitude of faults, take the car to a garage with a good OBD2 diagnostic reader

plugs in under the steering wheel [ lower down ]. Once you have the diagnostic reader plugged in a fault code will show, which will translate the problem - Normally Oxygen sensors.

Good Luck

Thanks for your advise. The strange thing is, it only came on once. I have since done around 60 odd miles, and everything is fine. Would the fault show up when checked, or would the fault have to be on going, Also if this warning came up again, do you think it would be ok to use the car?

most OBD faults have 2 condition's

Current fault = light on

stored fault = light normally off but code stored for diagnostic purpose's

as advised get it on a OBD reader, if your anywhere near liverpool I can do it for free
