Hi guys, Ladies

My Lexus was involved in a rear side smash. Had to replace my sub frame and some other rods. On the day i went to get my car at the workshop the mechanic tried to start the car but according to him the Battery was too flat and that blew the Alternator fuse. I don't know what they did before i arrived.

Anyway, replaced the 120A fuse, car started, i was happy and I left. While driving I noticed my fuel light flashing and gauge showed empty. Put in R200 fuel but light still flashed and gauge still showed empty. Put on my radio and nothing happened. Came home, checked fuses and replaced one tha was blown. Radio now working but gauge still dead. Also found out that my TRC, SLIP and SNOw indicators does not work. Aircon dead. No light comes on when trying to demist rear window. Everything elsse works fine. Checked all fuses and they check out fine. Two sender units are fine (0 - 55 Ohms)

What could the prob be. Did they mess up my computer?

Please help

Also not getting any voltage on my sender unit terminals

Craig, welcome to the LOC.

I'm afraid that I can't help, but you might get better response by posting this on the IS200 part of the forum as well.

Hope someone points you in the right direction soon.

Hello and welcome to the LOC.

I think the garage is telling you some cover up rubbish, a flat Battery would not blow the 120A fuse, there wouldn't be enough current if the Battery was flat.

It sounds more like they have either taken the Battery off to recharge it and reversed the terminals or tried to jump start it and reversed the leads.

If it was all OK electrically before you left it with them for body repairs I would be going back and asking them to get it back to its original condition at their expense.

The damage could be extensive and expensive to sort if you are talking damaged ECUs.

I'll move this topic to the IS section for a better response from fellow members.

Hi and welcome to LOC.

As Steve said, the Battery going flat cant blow the alternator fuse! They either put the Battery on wrong or connected the jump leads incorrectly if they tried to jump start it.

I'd take it back and tell them you know exactly what they've done wrong so sort it please.

Makes you think what kind of mechanic connects the Battery terminals incorrectly :/
