I'm getting a tinny sound lately too.... It's fairly mild at the moment but I notice it everytime come to a stop.

In my past experience it tended to be one of the following:

1) low engine oil, need topping up

2) water pump... I had 2 of these replaced when I owned a yaris

3) heat shield might be either getting ready to fall off or it's touch against the exhaust.

In my case for now I think my engine oil needs looking into..

Oil is fine ... It only rattles when you rev it slow and it's only between 1100 to 1300 rpm .. had lose heat shields before on other cars and it sounds the same . Will look tomorrow

It might be the water pump. I'd recommend getting it checked.

Was just the one nut ... enough room to get a spanner on it to tighten up ... foot down from the front wheels... middle of the engine.. arms length to get to it.... exhaust is on the right off it , its a small ish shield about 8 inch long
