Folding Mirrors

Hi all,

New to this forum and a first time recent lexus owner. I have a 2003 RX 300 and I want to alter the folding mirrors so that I can fold them in even when I have taken the key from the ignition. It is just inconvenient to have to fold the mirrors back before you get out of the car, particularly where you get our into the road, as opposed to the pavement side.

I presume that all I would need to do is to change the live feed to a permanent one. Any ideas on this?

Hi there.

You can get timer relays off eBay (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281033442628?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 ) that will hold a little amount of power after your car is off to power the mirrors. You would have to re wire the relay into the mirror circuit and set an amount of time you would like it to wait. The relay will allow the mirrors to open and close when you lock/unlock car from the fob. If you go on this thread ( http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/70868-remote-folding-mirrors-full-closure/ ) and ask eddieblock he should be able to send you some more details as he has done this to his car. I plan on doing the same thing soon. Hope this has been some help
