Dpf Regeneration

 Share

Recommended Posts

By logging on to 'Faults with Lexus dpf' on Google I came across a series of logs from last year regarding solutions to the dpf warning lights etc which seemed to come to an end with one of the members having had his problem solved by a company from Birmingham. Has this solution lasted or does anyone else know a company in the Sussex/South East area who carries out the same service. I have been quoted an exorbitant amount by one of the local Lexus dealers for dpf regeneration, ecu re-setting degr valve and pipes replacement. I am extremely suspicious as they also told me that several other items required attention, which when I spoke to my regular garage, turned out to be false! Assistance would be helpful

Hello and welcome to the LOC.

I have somewhere an article regarding DPF regeneration from Car Mechanics magazine, I'll dig it out and see if it is the same company in Birmingham and also if there is somewhere nearer to you.

Some members have also reported good results from a special fuel additive to keep the system cleaner.

The EGR valve cleaning is pretty straightforward to the point of being DIYable so an independent garage should have no problem, infact I believe there is even a video tutorial on Youtube.

Here's one company

and another in Essex

Many thanks for that. I look forward to your further information. If there is anyone else out there with actual experience of dpf regeneration and if it lasts or any other tips, I would appreciate hearing from you

If you can find the posts from those folk, that have done the DPF regeneration in Birminham, it would be best to send them a message to ask how they got on.

Not absolutely sure but I have a feeling a garage service locally to me has done the regeneration in their unit. I guess there must be some ECU instruction path to start the regeneration process.

Might be worth asking locally in your area?

Thanks for this sound advice also. I have tried several garages in the area but all have said that the problem is that it's a Lexus. Apparently any other make can be regenerated easily. When you buy the vehicle, everyone sings its praises, but don't make you aware of it's faults - which this quite obviously is. I will have to try and trace the logs I found originally. I was just hoping the members who had posted, might spot my log and get back to me. Too easy I guess!
