The Weather Is Beautiful, And Silence Is Restored!

The fantastic weather has returned (arrived?) in Cheshire today, so I ventured out to investigate the jangly, metallic sound from my LS400 front wheel. Turns out it was this:

I had the front pads replaced a month or so ago and I didn't have a spare replacement part for the trip switch thing (please excuse the technical vocabulary) so my mechanic did a temporary fix. This seems to have been too temporary and the above item was swinging around in the wheel arch quite freely.

So, I've removed it for now. Anyone know exactly what it does? I'm guessing it is for holding the cable for the wiring for the electric switch trigger? Is that right?

I have a feeling that it holds the giggling pin in on the laughing gear. They are very rare and may well be worth a fair amount of money. Mike

Suggest you check the other side to see what that device is does there. Should solve the problem
