The main thing about the autobahn is the standard of driving on them is far superior to our motorways, only came across 2 jelly heads as we call them in the trade (I'm a lgv driving instructor). Belgium is another mater.

I would never consider converting to LPG as I would probably never get the money back on my mileage. However, I really don't worry about the cost of running a Lexus, mainly because my wife's car (Mitsubishi Pajero 2.8 Litre Diesel Turbo) uses so much fuel that mine looks like a moped by comparison!

ahh remember having one of those - I had the sluggish 2.5TD - slow old thing - luckily I sold it before I had any head gasket/fuel pump related problems with it! - the 2.8 is better/smoother and doesn't need a cambelt

No they don't but I know of a few that's have snapped there camchain's

Diesel should be left to trucks , buses & at a push large vans. With the extra purchase cost, fuel cost & extortionate repair costs when they go wrong, you would have to do some miles to recoup that lot.
