Help With Gs300 Stereo Options

Hi guys,

just bought a 1999 GS300 sport. its got the gen 1 nav system installed as well as a sub and amp and dvd screens in the rear headrests. now i've been doing a bit of research and can see that other owners have succesfully installed a double din aftermarket screen. my question is how to go about altering the climate control as this is obviously built in to the old screen?

Good question but I don't have an answer,however I'm sure some GS owners will come up with the solution in due course.

I had a double din install in my old GS300 Sport but that wasn't factory Nav. I still have all the gear ready to go into my GS430 Sport but still waiting to find a second hand climate control unit cheap enough, to test if it is a plug and play change back to non Nav controls. I'm not up for spending 100's as a test, so the search continues :(

Yes it is - you can retrofit the climate controls from a non-nav screen car. I did this on my GS430 for a while.

The wiring was fun though! Pretty sure there was a guide on the net explaining how to bypass the amp.....

ok so i have the head unit and the climate control module, anyone know of a how-to to wire the module up?
