Help My Car Is Juddering!

Recommended Posts

Hi All

I am new to the forums and have tried to search for this problem to no avail so wondered if anyone can help.

I have a Lexus IS220d 100k miles 2007 reg, Recently had a problem were my VSC light came on took it to my local garage they said it was a problem with my EGR valve and cleaned it.

Recently my car has been juddering on acceleration and over the last few days has got significantly worse it is worse when going uphill and can judder quite violently to the point have have to put the clutch in and change gear to rev higher seems to help the problem. Took the car to local diesel specialist who used the diagnostic who said it was the dpf but recommended some additives and a good run out at 3000 revs, but this as not solved the problem at all. I do realize the car needs looking at but just wondered if anyone else had experienced anything similar before I start paying out lots of money.

Thanks in Advance for your help

I think you might find its the duel mass fly wheel which is failing.

Question:does it appear worse when the weather is damp/wet?

I have the same problem with an IS 200D ADVANCE.

The clutch peddle sticks due to water in the clutch fluid causing the clutch to stick /slip as it is not completely engaging the only cure is a new flywheel clutch and possibly clutch slave.

You know you are responding to a 7 year old post!, I’d like to think the poster got it sorted or sold it but failed to update us!

Note: this was his first and only post!
