Ls460 Common Faults

Hello everyone,

I've never had a Lexus before. I was thinking of buying a LS460 (I think they were made from 2006 to 2013).

What are the common faults on these, and what is the likely repair cost?

Anything I should look out for?

Any info would be appreciated.

there has not been a mention of many problems with the LS460 - partly becuase they are new and small in numbers.

One problem which i have read about a few times is the steering rack problem - have a read here:

One point I have been told of is that the LS460 cannot be converted to LPG because the engine uses direct petrol injection.

But I your not planning to have an LPG conversion, no problem.

Check for rust inside the sunroof also.

Yeah the only ls460 that can be LPG converted is the ones that are in Gulf countries

I think it is to do with the fact that we have direct injection and we don't

They maybe dont have direct injection because they dont care about the cost of fuel or emissions

We have 1URFSE and they have 1URFE

They are both the same engines just we have direct injection and they have normal injection

I have a company 2.0L Mazda 6 with direct injection running very well on LPG with a system called Liquimax by Prins. It runs 100% on LPG and does not need petrol to start. The LPG is injected in liquid form into the engine using the original Mazda injectors. I'm not sure if they do a Lexus version.
