Transmission Rough Spot

Hi,

I have been experiencing the same problem "Noise & vibrations at and above 80 kmph" right from the 1st week I took the delivery of my car. The dealer said Lexus Australia test drove my car and they acknowledge the problem and they are working on an update "to IMPROVE driver cabin noise (slight vibration)". As they can't tell me when it can be fixed, I have spoken to Consumer Affairs in Australia, they have advised me to write to dealer asking for a date when this issue can be fixed and if they don't respond in 7 days, I can then lodge a complaint with Consumer Affairs and they will take it from there. The guy I spoke to from Consumer Affairs said, "apparently, it's a breach of Section 54", would be interesting to see how the dealer is going to respond.

I have a colleague who drives Toyota Prius, she doesn't have this problem, I have a friend who drives Honda Hybrid, he doesn't have this problem........ why Lexus IS300h?!!!!

You should move to the 'Potential Manufacturing Defect' post as that's where the topic is hottest. There is a 'fix' for the problem which some of us have had done. It hasn't cleared the issue completely but makes it a lot more bearable.

Haven't you been informed of the fix by your dealer (well, it's actually more of a work-around)? It's an ECU update. We've had ours in Europe since 3 weeks ago. Like I said, it doesn't remove the resonance completely but in my experience it moves it to a much narrower range of RPM which make it more bearable. Last thing to say to Lexus is that it's resolved! I'd suspect it's still a mechanical problem.
