Battery Or Not The Battery

 Share

Recommended Posts

Hi,

New IS200 owner here.

Just a general question, regarding my cars Battery. I notice on the dash of my car that the volt reading for my Battery is just over 9 volts.

The car sometimes requires me to push the gas pedal to start up. Is this because of the Battery or maybe spark plugs??

Thanks in advance

Jay

Yeah that gauge picture looks just like mine pre start and during.

I've had the car just under a week so re spark plugs I couldn't tell you when they were last changed.

So I'm going to change them this weekend for some NGK ones which seems to a popular choice for alot

of Lexus owners

Cheers

Jay

Just swapped my OEM Battery today for a new Bosch one. The old one would start the car and the voltages were within spec as per Chris' photos, but the engine was starting to turn over much slower than normal, especially if some electrical stuff was on (ie: sidelights).
