Hi guys

Our 04 ls430 needs two new backboxes.

It's just turned over 100k, I was wondering if anybody has any recommendations on custom ones, because of course we want to keep the car quiet,

A bit of extra noise on acceleration would be ok, but the general idle etc must be quiet,

Are there any options? Or just stick with A lexus one, I have priced it up and a s/s custom one, the same size and shape as genuine lex is around 1/2 the price of the genuine one,

Thanks guys

Anuj

a stainless system will last you,......................... defectively, Lexus produced the 430 with mild steel boxes I believe ......... shoddy !!

I would go for the s/s one.

Cheers matey,

Can't believe lex want nearly 1k to do the job,

Pipeworx in burscough said £175 each, or £200 and they will cut the boxes open and replicate the same design,

Needs a new shock absorber too but it's air suspension so not having any luck with that!

And an a/c leak under body

Nah, I much prefer my mk1 sport gs

We were gunna replace the Ls but the p/ex price on it was a kick in the ...

Full lex history etc mots by lex

Same tyres as when it left the factory genuine brakes etc well looked after, and what a ride, just a shame it's starting to age a bit now, but ah well. I've driven a 60 reg s350 and can honestly say the ls drove better.

I recently had a full SS sytem stuck on my 430, including 2 new catalytic converters for £600 made to measure.

Lexus would had charged over £1500 for this lot and then add the labour fee.

Had it done by Tony Banks in Leeds, i can give you the phone and address if you need
