Wheel And Caliper Colour Choice

Recommended Posts

Looking for something different than stock.

I'm getting my calipers and wheels referb soon and don't really want stock colour combo I don't think.

In two minds. Do something individual I like which may impact re-sale or stay stock colours.

Some on the us forum have amazing looking orange calipers. May be hard to keep clean though!!!

Also, not sure what colour wheels suit a grey car other than grey!

I must admit the blue calipers would be something I would consider. :)

At the end of the day Stu, you can always have them re-painted before you sell it? That way it wouldn't affect the resale value etc.

Wheels are a tougher decision though (more costly to re-finish if you did go for something to OTT! Lol).

I think hyper chrome black would be a nice finish. Have a look on the Rimtec website (based near me - did some work on one of my old cars). Think it'll be somewhere around £300 to have them re-finished in the hyper chrome.

Blue does look pretty nice and not too 'in your face'.

Will check out that colour. Really need to look for grey cars with various colour wheels on to be sure. Grey wheels on black cars look great so the reverse should look good in theory.

Grey fella...

I think I would go a custom lighter colour ,lighter than oem with darker coloured calipers , like dark blue or even the same colour as your car .that would look mint .im not a lover of dark wheels on dark cars , no offence to anyone ,just choice .

Thinking dark blue callipers for sure and probably matte black wheels...just not sure whether to go matte or gloss on the wheels.

I prefer darker wheels :)

Mine are gloss ,they have a bit of a sparkle in them when the light hits them ,look smart .next year I think they will be ready for a refurb but I'm gonna get them done when I need tyres .i hate garages touching my wheels lol I **** my pants when they take tyres on and off GRRRR

Personally think that is too light Stu.

You should try and see hyper chrome in the flesh so to speak! ;)

It's a really rich colour with a kind of wet look (hard to describe). The wheel is painted a silver colour first, then given a layer of black over the top (meaning the silver/grey is still there if they don't over do the black coat).

I may get mine done as an interim measure until I can afford the 20's I want. :)

The blue caliper would work really well, as would silver like with the AMG Merc's.

It's down to personal choice though at the end of the day mate. ;)

Cheers.

Orange ones are nice, if i was doing that i would just go brembo red personally. The blue look slovely, very vibrant. Any idea on paint code?

ill be using lexus decals, i like them and differet from chucking on brembos,

I'm thinking of using these guys:

Letchworth is pretty close to where my folks live. Would take a Monday off after one of my weekends with the kids, and take it over to them.

I'll probably get the alloys repainted first, then head over there to finalise the colour for the calipers.

For me it'll be between blue, orange and silver.

Have you sourced the Lexus decals yet? Might prove tricky, as the originals were painted on??

Think gloss are easier to clean that matt personally.

Using a good rim seal like Poorboys will make it easier though Stu. :)

Provided you keep on top of the cleaning (at least once a week), should be fine in either finish chap.

Cheers.
