Get Rid Of The Tape Player

Has anyone ever tried to get rid of the tape player, maybe replacing it with a DAB radio with a small screen, for example?

I like the look of the JustConnect DAB radio but the standard radio screen is so small, you aren't going to get the other benefits of DAB radio (track playing info etc) which I saw on a recent hire car and I thought was pretty cool...

Have you thought about leaving everything in place and getting a DABMotion?

That's pretty similar to the JustConnect - still uses the original radio display which is a bit too small IMO. Not sure about the wireless connection either with that setup....

I just bought a 2003 rx300 and I'm glad it has a tape player! I still have loads of tapes knocking about - I must be more old fashioned than I thought!

Tape player ...... Use it as a iPod connection ! Old hat , I know , but it still has it's uses :-)

Regarding using DABMotion/JustConnect - by "wireless" connection I assume they translate DAB converted to FM and you have to tune your present in-car radio to specific FM frequency (87.6?)? If so, I am curious about the sound quality once DAB signal goes from DABMotion to car FM - that bit - is it affected at all? Surely it must be not worse than regular FM broadcast quality? Never tried.
