Iphone 4S Used For Sat Nav

:driving:New non sat nav F sport due in 63 days. I've read somewhere that you can download sat Nav on Iphone and display on screen of F sport. Anyone done this on non sat nav model with Iphone 4s and if so what do you need to get it working in terms of interface cables or Apps?

I stand to be corrected but I didn't think that was possible. That functionality is a part of AirPlay which apple recently announced however I don't think Toyota/Lexus are in the first wave of manufacturers to release something and it would only be for new vehicles.

There is a thread or two on here about an app called Mirror link, but I think it is for android phones and the functionality is limited.

Afraid you will be stuck with just the Iphone as the satnav. I've used it for a few years and was all set to carry on in the Lexus until the offer of the free satnav came. I certainly wouldn't pay 2k for it but took it for free.

Non Nav cars are equipped with mirrorlink, but apple never subscribed. It was a consortium of mainly Sony, Android and older Nokia's. However as Steve44 says it is limited because you cannot use your infotainment while using mirrorlink.
