Where Can I Buy A New Egr Valve From?

Recommended Posts

A friend of mine may be selling his 2006 IS220d, as it needs a new EGR valve.

He has been quoted £450 to replace it.

I am quite handy with a spanner, and I've changed EGRs in Mondeos and Vectras, so I thought I would be able to do the same for the IS.

I've had a look on Google but cannot find anyone selling new EGRs. I can only guess therefore that its a part only obtainale from Toyota.

Is this right? If so, does anyone have a price?

Why not have a look at it first? Take it off and thoroughly clean it..it may clean up fine. Dealerships will invariably advise a replacement as they can't be arsed to clean them.

Take a look at the vids I gave in this post.

£250 sounds about right, mine was replaced before I bought the car and the cast was just over 300euro fitted. I can't believe how quickly they get clogged up, I cleaned mine about 3500km and checked it again this week and it was pretty dirty - well worth a clean. I'm just happy it's so easy to get to.

Replaced mine @ 5months ago when purchased the car (new EGR valve was included :-0 ) and since I've no trouble at all with it. Checked twice in t months and just a black shadow/dust more like it but not clogged! ! I do use always Miller additive and I'm staying away of cheap diesel. By the way the old egr sold it on eBay.co.uk for 150£ as was good as new ;-d..but yeah, I remember when I checked for buying EGR valve for is220d very rarely you mite came across coz they're very easy to clean and don't get broken really!
