Battery For Key Fob

Sorry if this is me being thick.

I think the Battery is going in my key fob, its taking ages to open/lock the car, whilst my wifes key works fine.

Can I get a new one anywhere or do I need to take it in? If I can get it anywhere what exactley am I asking for?

I have found the local jewllers to be cheap for the batteries and they are usually the good branded ones. They normally cost me about £1 to £2 depending on which car it was for. For the Lexus I think it is a case of unscrewing the screw and replace the Battery, I have not had that pleasure yet though.

Lot's of mail order places on the web. Should cost about £2. You need to open up the key fob and find the Battery model number. CR1616? Your Lexus dealer should also have them.

I'm not sure if a Battery change is on the service schedule anymore. They used to be changed at each service and therefore should never go flat on you.

Ta. Car is due for service soon, so might try and hold out. Phobic that if I open up the fob everything will spring out and I'll break it.

it won`t spring out . dead easy to do . why wait ? i did ! i could not turn the alarm off one morning (the car was armed at the time) just take Battery out and go to local hardware/watch shop . or take Battery out of spare key .

Hi all, A quick web search found http://www.battery-house.co.uk/button/1616.shtml. I just ordered one myself but as my daughter likes to chew the key it could be a dose of spit causing the problem ! Anyway, £1.65 including postage isn't bad. Couldn't find them in a shop.
