Minor Scratches

 Share

Recommended Posts

Not sure how but I've picked up several very small scratches round the driver's door handle (I don't use the keys, so really don't understand how they've appeared).

Is there something I can buy from Halfords to polish them out or do I need a proper dent-repair type bloke?

Lexus paint is soft, the scratches are probably from your

finger nails when opening the door, Meguiars scratch X and a bit of elbow

grease should do the trick, remember to give it a couple of layers of polish afterwards.

Meguiars scratch x is one of the best ones easily got in Halfords in that it has dimishing abrasive so you don't end up with micro polishing swirls. Using a microfibre cloth go at 90 degree s to the scratch and rub until product goes clear too many folks don't work it long enough then repeat until no further improvement is seen even if that's six or seven times. using a filler polish like Autoglym srp can help further on really bad scratches just remember to seal it afterwords. if the panel has been subjected to a smart repair then take care using abrasives
