Squeaky Brakes

Hi.

I have a Lexus IS200. My car has started making a strange sound when I drive. Its like a squeaking noise as I drive. I have had my car into a garage and the mechanic can not find anything wrong with the car.

The noise is similar to a train coming into a station. The mechanic did check my break and said there was nothing wrong with my car.

Has anyone any ideas what could be wrong with the car.

Thanks

Paul.

Mine did this. Never did find out what it was. but everything was in good working order. I checked back plate, calipers, pads and looked for debrie and it still did it

Squeaky brakes can be down to the following reasons

1/ rust on the edges of disc

2/ cheap or worn pads

3/ cheap discs

4/ metal dust trapped inbetween the disc and caliper

Personally, I would clean my discs and remove all metal dust and copper grease up and refit. Should do the trick.

Hi Guys and thanks for reply.

The noise is intermittent. I did let a mechanic have a look at my car and he could not find anything wrong with brakes. I recently have had the car serviced and replaced cam belt and fan belt.

Cheers

Paul
