Is Rx450H Sat Nav Hard Disk? How Is It Updated?

was just wondering if the RX450h sat nav is now hard disk? And is so, how is it updated and does it cost to update?

My 400h is DVD based.

The HDD based systems are normally updated by a Lexus dealer via USB/Firewire and specialist software. They certainly will charge, probably around the same sort of price as the DVD based systems - £120 to £150.

I had my wife's Toyota's HDD Sat Nav updated to the new 2014/2015 version a couple of weeks ago and it had to be done at the dealer, took about 45 minutes and cost £180.

So I expect it may be a little bit dearer at Lexus !!

I wonder if there are different levels of upgrades on the basis that you may not want/need ALL the maps and may wish to only have the UK and Western Europe maps updated.
