what do you mean by a major service? The standard service (which could be called major) is every 20k miles.

The major/major service is at 100k miles when the timing belt needs replacing. I think 60k is a bigger than normal one because of the requirement for new plugs.

As with all the services there are time limits as well as mileage. 60k miles or 6 years for plugs for example.

£800! You've been done!

It's only £295 from Lexus and done in under an hour. Local indy quoted £175

£800 is including the 100k service - that's what I was quoted by Lexus. I also went to an indy and got it done for £575.

On the same note I'm at 90k now & looking at fixed price option for timing belt & essential service...

I notice this doesn't include the tensioner, can anyone tell me if this does need replacing and if so how much extra ...

also if anyone knows what is the difference between the major & minor service (what is actually done on both these services) it doesn't give a breakdown on the lexus site ... and do you still get a courtesy car ?
