Phil, thanks for the link, but at £45 each (plus £15 postage) I've decided I can live without my bit of bling! As to all comments regarding the new EU regs coming our way, the sooner we leave this interfering bunch the better.

I thought it was each, but looking further down the listing it seems to be £45 for the set, unless I didn't read it correctly. They're from Poland so they should come protected in nice thick sausage skins!

I looked at the s320 at an alternative to the LS400, but after having 3 Mercs all of which rotted away, I could'nt really convince myself that they have improved enough. All the BMs I've ever had never showed a hint of rust.

Some friends of mine own an older S320 and having arranged to meet at a local pub I was intrigued as to why he kept popping out of the pub at regular intervals.

"The car won't lock" was the response when asked "It's going into Mercedes tomorrow"

£1300.00 later it was repaired, apparently the doors are soft close all controlled by various ECUs,pumps and pipework.

One of my LS400 door locks failed, cost £10.00 for a secondhand lock which I fitted myself.

I hate to say it but when Mercs have extra chrome on all the arches it's only hiding the common major fault of these Mercs being built from 1998-2007 is the rust they badly suffer from on bodywork.

Of course there is rust underneath these chrome arches. However it is not bad at all and I will fix that myself soon :)

Also the bottom lip of the boot lid has some rust (also very common)

Surprisingly the bottom of the doors are rust free (another common rust area)
