1991 Ls400 Window And Rear Windscreen Compatibility

Hello ... can't find it anywhere on the web.

Somebody smashed 2 windows in my 1991 LS400 ... I was wondering whether glass from MK2 model (1998) will fit ?

1998 is Mk4. But Mk2 (up to 1994) should be OK. Three different coloured tints as well, be sure to get the right one.

Surely this is the problem of Audoglass/whoever has been appointed by your insurance company?

my bad ... I was asking about MK3 and MK4 - the one I found near to me is 1998.

I have only third party insurance so the privilege of parking in Sheffield overnight will have to covered by myself in full.

The other problems you will have are finding a suitable donor car,successfully removing both screens without damage,transporting them without breaking them and even then you will need a specialist to fit them into your car as they are bonded screens.

If you find a donor get a professional to remove it.

The back one is much worse than the front

Just for the record of others following.

I had to replace my front window of the MK1-2 at a cost of £250 for the front fully fitted with Vat with Auto Windscreens.

I also had to replace the MK4 rear windscreen at a cost of £500 but went through insurance(£50 excess) also with Auto Windscreens. Please note last year there was only two rear windscreens left in whole of UK for MK3(98 model) and I had one of them, So I think there is only one new one left in UK.

Auto windscreens have changed since they went more or less bankrupt Etc. a few years ago and are 50% cheaper than auto windscreens in price every time I got a quote these days.

Try them for a price and post it up here for others to follow.

FACT: The windscreens have to be wire cut out or they will just smash when removing any other way.
