"key Not Present" When I've Forgotten To Put Is250 In Park

Recommended Posts

I have had my 08 IS250 SE-L for a few weeks and love it, Only one thing is annoying me. If I forget to put the car into Park before opening the door then warning and chimes ensue, which is fair enough. The only way I've found to cancel it is to start the engine again, put in park then switch off - a bit embarrassing in the office underground car park. :whistling:

There has to be a better way! Can any member help?

Thanks

Al

Fear not...it will become a instant response....to stick it in P...after a couple of instances as you have described. You'll find yourself doing it without even thinking about it.

All you need to do is to move the lever to 'Park' using the shift lock button and then press the start button once (or twice?) to switch the car off completely. There is no need to restart the engine.

It's obviously not good practice and like others said you'll soon get in the habbit of not leaving the car in 'Drive'. :)
