Beetle Tdi Convertible...

Sublime to ridiculous, replaced my now departed ls400 with a wee beetle softop....seems to be getting around 50 mpg so my wallet is opened much less....but surprising thing....I jumped in, put seat right back....and couldn't reach pedals properly...its VAST behind wheel if not in back....daughter has a mk4 golf tdi, essentially same car but it feels tiny behind wheel...obviously no where near refinement of LS, but what is....I doubt I will buy another big car as nothing will compare....until o can afford a low miles sc430 or ls600 that is.....any how, don't excommunicate me coz I drive a beetle....

I've even got friends who drive Volvo's Vauxhalls and Fords.

I don't doubt that you'll keep scanning the forum and at some point will have some useful info to pass on to other LS owners.

Wasn't lookin for lexus replacement, but am caraholic and right place, right time,...and glad I bought it....loveable wee car and much more than the style over substance they are portrayed as..

In my defence, nothing will compare favourable to me old Ls, so I was as well buying a completely different type of car...the bug has one or two things the lexus didn't...unlimited headroom and 50mpg

Well, beetle went to my daughter at Christmas....that was a big surprise for her. I ran her golf for a month or so and sold it the other week and bought a 20k miles from new streetka....which surely has a mini me lexus sc430 tail on it? Seems like a great wee car, nippy and handles superbly. I will probably be the only man who ever finds this out as they do seem to be blighted with that 'woman's car' tag...surely a manufactured nomenclature- a frogeye sprite or midget was never considered a woman's csr?....same template, small,,cheap, cute...and fun....it is indicative of the times we live in that the sight of any man driving a convertible of less than about 200hp is culturally incongruous..
