Hi,

I've run my Bridegstones RE040 for 26K which Im told is pretty good. Its now time to replace. I know some IS200's come with Dunlop SP9K. Any other recomendations?

Also I've notice that the front inside sholders have worn noticeable more than anywhere else across the tyre? What does this indicate? I had replacement alloys at 16K (under warranty) and after this was done I noticed the steering feel "heavier"....Any ideas?

yeah i would say tracking.. i had to have mine done today... only £20 for laser alignment.

I got my Micheline Pilots tyres today.. they seem to handle nice... need to take the car up to a resonable speed to see how they handle round country roads etc. :smug:

Thanks for the advice. I'm off to Studley Tyre Centre tomorrow to get my Toyo Proxes T1-S fitted to the lexobarge. They have a 4 wheel alignment rig so hopefully I'll have a high grip, tidy steering car.

BTW I got the Toyos for £102 each..Decent price????

I have tried a few tyres (track days are costly in rubber use)......

Avon ZZ1s - avoid like the plague! I melted mine at Donignton and was glad to see them finished off!

Yoko A539s - Excellent, not long lasting, but super grippy.

Goodyear Eagle F1s - if A539s are 100% grippy, these are 99%, but in the wet - they beat the Yokos. I paid £268 for 4 of these in 205/40/17s (not for the Lexus) including fitting, balancing, VAT etc.

BTW - if the replacement alloys are heavier, and if you have had the car lowered (?) - check your camber as well. Negative Camber will lead to the inside of the tyre wearing quicker than the outside.

The lexo got its new boot this afternoon. Some spanking new Toyo Proxes T1-S. The guy took his time fitting them as I had asked him not to scratch the alloys. Shame I dont have a digital camera I'd have up'd the pics of my old tyres for all too see, they were more knackered than I thought. Lots of tread on the outside of the fronts but almost smooth on the inside. Rears just had central track wear.

Off to South Wales on Thursday so should get a few hundred miles under them & see how they perform on the M50 thro' the Black Mountains
