  2. To be fair these awards are a little bit of a joke... Best Private Bank, Best Car Dealer... they are not strictly speaking "bought", but there are publications and awards that are set-up in such a way that it makes the brand to look good either way. Sort of "you are most beautiful woman named Karen I met in last 30 seconds" compliment. As you can see from nominations - dozen centres got awards in some category and there are no second places and no losers, everyone is a winner! Also it is quite clear that these are just Lexus centres, so it really says nothing about how they compare overall (even if I believe Lexus would still be better than most other brands). In short what I am saying - there are not very objective awards.
  3. That was good decision, GS450h is amazing car and late mk4 facelift cars are extremely rare, but £30k for 2017 car... c'mon! That is ridiculous, even the cleanest example ever! LC500 definitely much more special car and I reckon will keep value much more, even if you go for hybrid LC500h (which is basically a improvement on 450h) it is just next generation car. Sure - money being no object GS450h with low miles is great car, but rest assured when you try to trade it in 2 years later Lexus will value it probably at £15,000, it only makes sense to buy it if it would have depreciated in line with it's age, but it has not and you likely would have been the one to pick-up whole depreciation few years later. There is no way it could be worth that money... £20k perhaps would be more realistic and can see it working out, but not £30k.
  4. My Car is off Singapore on the Opel Ace Container Ship. Chuffed. Tel
  5. My last few years at work were classed as "based at home" because I did most of my work either on the phone or computer remote access or travelling around the world. It worked OK. My boss, based in New Jersey, USA used to ring me usually at five minutes to the hour. He let me in on the secret that he knew that we had a cuckoo clock and that told him that I was at home and not in the pub. I remember one particular Friday afternoon driving 5 hrs on the Mway from London while doing a very long and complicated tech support phone call. I don't remember any of the journey due to the complexity of the call. Now that's what I call dangerous and stupid but we were obliged to do it! It would not happen nowadays fortunately.
  6. Cannot find reference of that in repair manual. My assumption would be that this would be controlled by ECU (as everything fuel related is controlled by ECU) and the main sensor that feeds ECU the is this "yaw rate and acceleration sensor": I do not believe that potholes can be that bad to trigger this sensor, perhaps it was the case in older cars, but this would be quite sophisticated sensor which looks at multiple parameters and for it to be triggered by pothole the impact would need to be such that you probably would lose parts of your suspension before you get some sort of trigger to cut-off fuel. Certainly I have never heard of that happening to anyone.
  7. You mean the 12v battery Claudia? You’d know by now if there was something wrong and the big traction battery which is under the seat is also well protected by fuses so don’t worry.
  8. I have had my RX 450H+Tacumi now for 3 weeks and am just about up with all the new electronics. The iPhone connectivity was a very attractive one and I read up on all the different functions. However, 1 function is not well known. I had locked the car with the Key and was sitting in a cafe across the road. My daughter wanted to get something from the car so I used my iPhone to unlock it. I didn't work. So I tried many time when I got home and it still didn't work. I then noticed if I locked it with the phone and not the key, it did work. A call to the garage confirmed that was the case. I still have lots of issues with the iPhone interface which I am told needs a visit to the Garage ti fix.
  9. Sorry to hear that, hope you are ok. I would get it checked.
  10. I thought scumble was a description of the local yoofs hanging around the shopping centre after dark, i.e. Scum ambling about??😇. As in "we're just going down the offy for a litre of cider, a tramps underpants flavoured vape, an NO2 cylinder or two, a bit of aggro and a scumble"
  11. tesco's here is about 1.46 for E10 and 1.54 for momentum. The last 150 miles just cost me £35 (momentum) .😒 The isF and bike only get V-power so it is much more expensive, however, the bike does 55mpg even though it is 1900cc.😉
  12. I bought mine from Listers Lexus in Cheltenham. Best dealer I have ever used. We had an open and fair negotiation regarding the value of my trade in (a Mercedes) and overall deal on the LC. It was a 3 hour drive for me but they were great, even provided lunch! They used an outside detailing company to machine polish and properly apply their Protech product, which was done for free without me asking. I had heard the Lexus dealer network was top notch and I am definitely a convert!
  13. Thanks. For comparison this was one button in my old A3 Etron (Drive mode : EV > Hybrid -> Charge hold - and it defaulted to what it was set to last time). You could also force a harder regen mode by selecting sport mode which was useful when coming up to a junction or going down steep hills. Given the EV range it had it was all a bit academic but still miss the Audi/VAG infotainment/trip computer system.
  14. Today
  15. I'm not particularly tech savvy. I have a new memory stick and loaded music onto it that wouldn't play in the LC. I had left the format as it came which was exFat. Having read this thread I thought I needed to format to FAT32, but it doesn't give me that option. The only other option is NTFS, which I tried and also doesn't work. Any ideas?
  16. Just tried it. No joy. Have disconnected and reconnected bluetooth. Still nothing. Have noticed that even though CarPlay is connected to the car via bluetooth and seemingly working fine (apart from messaging), my bluetooth settings on my phone say that the Lexus is "Not Connected". Also on one of my attempts to set up again, the screen on the car went through two tick checks. Cant remember what they were but the first was fine and the second said something like "connecting for messaging" and that one buffered and then failed. Not sure at what point these appeared but I cant seem to get to that part of the process again! Frustrated
  17. I picked up a 24 nx350h today, and no wireless Android Auto. I already had the MA1 adapter but have had no luck connecting in the NX. It works flawlessly in my wife's Outlander. The Dealer told me it's coming in an OTA update soon. But seems we've been hearing that for years. I won't hold my breath - and I suppose I'll grab the AA Wireless adapter since others here have had some success with it.
  18. I'm not retired yet but I already think about my own micro business ...
  19. I mean the switch that cuts power to the petrol pump in a crash so petrol is not spraying everywhere. where I live there is really bad potholes and im expecting this to trigger the inertia switch and I have no idea where it is. This happened me in my first injection car back in the 90's and had to be towed in to work early one morning only to find this switch had triggered and only needed prest in for the car to start... I think all injection cars have this kind of switch now...
  20. I'm thinking of whipping up some homemade spaghetti with a side salad.
  21. My 2017 ct200h was rear ended yesterday by a Jeep. Most of the damage seems to be on the right side, it hit hard enough to push the tailgate in and separate the bumper on both sides. I know the battery is on the passenger side under the cargo. Should I be worried about non visible damage to the battery? Would I be able to tell if something was wrong with it? The car seems to be driving fine, although I can hear wind noise inside the cabin from the rear. Thoughts?
  22. This has been bugging me since I got my NX in January. It seems to have worked for Nobbie67 so i will give this a try as my problems are exactly the same. Thank you.
