  1. Took advantage of the nice weather and gave the car a good detail over the weekend which consists of. - Snow foam then wash - Iron X - Power rinse - Clay Bar - Wash and dry - Polish - Wax Also cleaned and treated the leather and polished up the tail pipes. Only managed to take some photos today, the car is very dusty by now. Excuse the parking, I did move the car back into space after taking the photos. And one with my other toy

  2. Calm down lol. I had my wheel scratched when the car was taken off the truck. Lexus fixed it for free but it was the wrong colour. They did it a week later and now its the right colour. Now, if the guys do a good job, all 4 wheels on the car will look pretty much the same. If they do a bad one, well, youll get 2 a completely different colour to the originals. Basically there is no paint code. Two different colours are mixed to get the colour you get out at the end. Very hard to match if not impossible. Both wheels on the drivers side were done. However, they were exactly the same as I had the dealer put all 4 wheels side by side to make sure they were all the same. Oh and please dont use phantom grey! Its not the right colour. Sewell Lexus in the US sell it and its a close match but its not perfect. And here is an email from Lexus UK regarding the wheel colour - "Toyotaor Lexus have never issued colour codes for alloy wheels. The wheels are produced by an independent manufacturer to Toyota. The final colour can vary depending on what process has been applied at the time of painting. The wheel refurbishers TGB have used for many years were never able to obtain the colour codes for the wheels and they had to invest a lot of time and money to replicate the colour, however this has never been 100% accurate and it was always recommended that all 4 wheels were refurbished to ensure a match. There is a possibility that a paint supplier or bodyshop may have a spectrometer to analyse the colour and produce a colour code close (but not exact) to your requirements." Here's my before and after: Bad job, wheel was scraped when taking off the trailer, Wheel was redone but was the wrong colour - Good job, notice how both wheels are the same colour -

  3. Premia solutions are sending their "TOP MAN" to repair my wheel but not until sep28!! I guess as they only normally do top marquees ie Bentleys Lambos etc a Lexus is further down the food chain??I just hope my wheel is repaired before planet earth runs out of oil!!Now where is that e mail address for complaints to Auto Express??

  4. As we've said before on here, the effortlessness of all that power means that you don't want to use it very often., It's just nice to know that it's there when you fancy the occasional blast (there's nothing like feeling that slight push in the back as the transmission kicks down and the revs increase).

  5. Hi everyone, I put my 2005 Rx400 in for an m.o.t. last week and it failed on o/s park brake cable & shoe's, shoe's were cheap enough at £22 but Lexus wanted £95 for the cable, I searched for a cheaper Uk alternative & as usual no one in the Uk wants to supply Rx400 parts ... anyway I got one from Rockauto for £17.67 (£50.06 inc delivery) takes a couple of days but is about the only source I've found for Rx 400 parts without being fleeced by the main dealer, Just a heads up if anyone is looking for brake parts on this site most are listed under Rx 400h 2007 not 2005 ...

  6. I have an sc430. was not aware that the sensors had a battery life, but considering they cost more than half the price of a new tyre they need to be dealt with. I dont want to lose the facility. However the design is very poor as really you should replace valves everytime you purchase new tyres. With just normal use they corode, are made of poor material and prone to snapping if you try to remove them and clean them up. On my car the threads on the stems of all of them are iffy. I had to purchase a new tyre recently and the stem broke. tried to get one from Lexus (not in stock) very useful! Thought about the issue, and I think the system is poor engineering. The sensor should be a seperate item, as the valve stem gets lots of wear, and fails while the sensor is still serviceable. Didnt want to go through a week of sensor alarm screaming while I waited for an appointment to reset the computer. So i have taped the sensor to the inside of the wheel (Gaffer tape) and it is working perfectly. (Never gven any problem since) Im going to do it with all of them (even if I have to buy a new one for a battery failure) its a far better approach.
