  1. We have identified that your Lexus is subject to a voluntary customer service campaign or outstanding safety recall. Oooo eck.....looks like I'm one of the lucky ones then. Think I'll opt for the V8 5Ltr upgrade to bring it up to ISF spec

  2. Ok given that it seems people are not able to have a sensible debate I'll have to close the topic. I will also draw your attention to these forums terms & conditions, I feel some people may need to reread them: http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/terms-conditions/ The basic rules for the club’s message-boards are simple: Be polite. Treat your fellow members with respect. Personal attacks and/or name calling in any form will not be tolerated and will result in you being removed from the club on either a permanent or temporary basis. Use common sense. Do not post for the sake of posting, or simply to increase your post count. Don’t break the law. Don’t post about things that break the law, or that might encourage others to break the law. Don’t post any message that even hints at advertising. Ensure your post is useful and related to the subject of the original poster. Do not change the subject of a post, or post non-constructive replies (such as replies containing only smileys).

  4. So, just been out and gone through the customisation settings.... One thing I have noticed is that it doesn't automatically pick up the VIN number which I have seen it do in a few YouTube vids...so I am guessing it's not working completely. Anyhoo...here's the full customisation menu (notes at the bottom): Initial Customisation Screen - Wireless Door - Wiper - Tilt - Warning - Air Con - Smart Key - Door Lock - Power Window - Illuminated Entry - Light Control - Sensor - Unit Conversion - Others - NOTES - There were a few which had no options at all. A couple being Security & Display. Unsure whether this is due to incompatibility with the hardware/software or there's simply nothing there to configure on my '07 IS. One other thing to note is that I have read you can also link new key fobs using this set up. There is a menu saying ECU Reprogramming....I am guessing it can be done but not looked at it yet....plus I already have a couple of fobs so no real need. This is also JUST the customisation part...there's a load of other menu's too. DISCLAIMER - If you purchase any hardware/software please make sure it is legit and also if you do screw up your vehicle's ECU whilst playing with the software I hold no responsibility for showing you some screenshots

  7. I'll be connecting this back up shortly... Will give an update then ☺ The 1 feedback... Is me! Lol... It's a second account for the seller. Ishaq... The auto lock is only available on certain vehicles... I don't think mine is available as it's too old... '07.

  9. I'm eyeing up Silver or Gun Metal Alloys, going to local seller see some wheel in person for some inspirations. Ive got my calipers waiting to be painted in red, i bought the paint a year ago never got round to do it. My cars going to bodyshop to get the "keyed" damage! sorted out so i asked the guy if he can paint the caliper for me and he agreed. Also with 3rd part Alloys is it possible to get Lexus Hub caps?? Also looking at lowering springs now what the wife doesn't know won't harm her :winky: lol

  10. Im sorry, I didn't realise you ran the forum and could tell me where I can and can't post? But since you do have all the answers, could you please enlighten me as to how having Lexus contract the work would "guarantee" the best job possible?

  11. Does look nice, but the low profile thing makes me a bit nervous with the potholes in local area. I prefer maximum rubber between the rim and the road

  12. Ishaq why not simply enable the child lock on the rear doors? My little one us always attempting to open the door lol

  13. I am Twinpot on the Swift Owners Forum. The picture in the avatar is at 3 Holes near Wisbech. Coincidently, the truck ended up in that ditch by the hand of the guy that owns the Pug on the trailer in the last picture by SpottedLaurel. Here is my daily driver.

  14. I'm planning on keeping mine as long as practically possible. Pushing towards 59...and also pondering a lifestyle/semi retirement move to France. So shovelling money into cars is very low on the horizon for me at this point. Mind you, I am incredibly pleased with this car on so many levels. Folding rear seats would be good as the boot space can be a tad restrictive on occasions. Insurance (£200 protected fully comp), road tax and fuel costs I am happy with. As Tony says above.."I have always avoided monthly payments but liked a nice car so searched Autotrader for a " depreciation disaster" ie let someone else take the big hit over the first 18/30 months". I'd extended my search up to 30 months but did not take any extended warranty on the vehicle.....did not deem it necessary. I'd rather save the expenditure but have it there if needed. Nowt in nearly two years...so £800 saved.

  15. Well, the old girl purred away yesterday, new owner seemed delighted. He had always wanted one, and held off to get a good one. He remarked within a few hundred yards that his current toyota avensis would now feel like a transit van. It's in good hands, a lovely couple who I feel will really appreciate and look after the big gold bus.

  16. Had the E Class estate for 12 years and 190,000 miles. Will keep it as it owes me nothing. Had the GS 450H for 12 months and have taken out long term Warranties and Service Plans as I intend it to be my last purchase. I do not understand the need to keep changing vehicles, so I suppose it must be an age thing as I `m approaching 70! Regards john

  17. Mmmmm, wonder if they've forgot to check the tyre pressures from the delivery setting? IS300h f sport demo I had also had really jiggly ride. Checked tyre pressures and they were about 42psi, instead of the 36 psi std. Changed them and all was good.

  18. Someone must have found the green one to be suitably priced, or the seller accepted a cheeky offer, as it's now been sold. So I won't be going for that one. Still got the possibility of another cheapie though... At this time of year I find myself using this less and less: 1980 Datsun Laurel 2.4 (C230) by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr And I need something else as an occasional alternative to the sensible diesel Avensis!

  20. That's one of the longest posts I've ever read! And with fine grammar and punctuation if I may say so. Can I also say that the world will end one day, it would be nice if you two could agree to differ before it does.

  21. Just a thought but maybe a call to the customer, as soon as the problem is known, advising the problem and assuring them that you are doing your utmost to find a solution would be a good way forward. If no solution found and you have to cancel then at least the customer is aware that there was a problem and an attempt was made to rectify it so would not feel so let down.
