  1. Seen parking up in Chandos Street, W1 - a black Mk1 with brown leather. And very shiny - obviously well looked-after. A clean Mk1 still has the ability to make a visual impact - unlike some of the newer ones IMHO!

  3. Thanks rayaans, I knew you'd have checked them out!. Knowing how the journo's don't like anything non German I'd noted their comments but taken with a pinch of salt, but you seem to confirm it. It is the additional power that grabs me, and that there are even fewer on the road than Lexi. You make a good point about the 450h, I have driven one of them and yikes it's fast, but also too big really. if the Q50 is the same size and mpg is that bad I'll pass. Nearest dealer is 50 miles away as opposed to 3 for the Lexus, but price wise they seem keen. That said I find the configurators impossibly infuriating and think I'll take a wander down to Maidstone and see what I think in the flesh. Nice to have something other than a Lexus to research though.

  4. I have a toyota with the same engine - this 1200rpm idling sounds normal - when others have said air con i think they mean climate control. Having the heaters on 21 degress or above with an ambient temp of 0 degrees or lower the engine will idle at 1200rpm. As above but ambient temp between 0 and 10 degrees it will idle at 1000rpm. The engine will idle like this until the engine has reached FULL operating temp. The climate control (well heaters) utilise a PTC heater for UK spec cars - this requires (in toyota vehicles - i imagine lexus will be the same) 3 x 30amp relays as they draw a lot of electric! I assume this is why the engine increases it's idle when these PTC heaters are active.

  6. All 3 parts were Toyota parts, but the pressure plate that was taken out has LUK F37 14 stamped on it. I think the clutch rattling maybe because of the bearing shaft being scored. Toyota Tacoma and FJ Cruisers with the RA60 gearbox suffer this too. There is a fix/TSB in the States. http://honda-tech.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=209172&d=1305381857
