  2. Hello Eileen, greetings from this side of the Pennines! the cost to the dealer of putting this right is irrelevant, when you deal with them it should be on the understanding that the cost is none of your concern - if they have sold a car to you that is not fit for purpose then you are entitled to a full refund, or for them to put it right. With regard to other problems it may have caused I wouldn't know, but there are plenty of knowledgeable people on the forum who will. If you aren't sure of the legislation and think they might try to hoodwink you have a read up on the Internet, there is loads of consumer help about nowadays. Hope it works put, I had teething problems with my 2003 Rx when I bought it last year but the dealer sorted it.

  3. Unfortunately the symptoms sound like a classic HGF, Lexus did a lot of these engines under their warranty with a mileage limit of 108,000 and under 7 years old with a FLSH. I think given the short time since purchase you could return the car to the dealer for a full refund if you wished under the Sales of Goods Act. Lexus basically fitted a new short engine and other parts for example the turbocharger to sort the problem so will yours get the same under warranty? Also be careful with your own mechanic looking at the car the last thing you want is a get out clause from the warranty because someone else has looked at it.

  4. My experience of aftermarket batteries for the mighty MkIV LS400 is that they don't quite fit, despite being specified for the vehicle. A Lexus dealer will fit a new battery, keeping all your radio codes and seat memory settings, and dispose of your old battery, for about £100. They'll usually wash and hoover the car too. I think that's a pretty reasonable deal :)

  5. That's possibly the most chauvinistic post I've ever seen... But to kind of answer your question, I've changed three IS300h windscreens, and two of those were owned by women.

  6. Same here - went with the ebay Aero blades and they are great. Drivers side was a bit stiff to slot in, but did go eventually. Can't argue at just over a fiver delivered!

  7. No - rear speakers are fine with the bypass cable. The only real problem is you might lose a couple of layers of skin getting the connector off the stock amp...

  8. I was given VIP passes to Goodwood last year via the Infiniti Redbull partnership. Infiniti had a lovely motorhome hospitality thing going on . Unfortunately all the people I spoke to said they wouldn't buy any of the current range. So they have a very long way to go. The new Q30 may help but I doubt it. It's a rebranded Merc A-Class. The Q50/ Q70 are no way near the competition including Lexus. The GS and IS are superior imho. Of course the general public will veer towards the 3 series/A4 because of the stupidly cheap lease deals
