  2. I don't think Lexus owners care about 0-60mph times. Thats just bloody stupid. I have a NSX on order. That will blow any Porsche out the water(apart from 918).

  3. Well, to hijack my own thread, I saw quite a few Lexus cars today - at Lexus Birmingham. I took the train to Brum, hopefully to pick my car up, unfortunately it had been delayed, and only arrived at the dealer today. I did actually see it though, as it disappeared into the workshop!! I was given a courtesy car, an Executive Edition, which I'll use for a couple of days then swap when mine's ready. An yes, I know I could have had it delivered, but I chose not to! First impressions, well the loaner has just under 4,000 miles on it, and I managed 60.1mpg displayed, on the approx 100 miles mainly motorway run home. Extremely smooth and comfortable, I haven't got to grips with any of the bells and whistles yet, I'll have a play this evening. Took me ages to work out why I couldn't lock the car though - I didn't realise you had to physically switch it off at the power button.................. Malcolm

  4. Hi Malcolm, I think on reflection her name was Hilary? They moved from Bedfordshire to Kings Langley. 1958. Model 50. So no slimline featherbed, or semi bathtub back end... I 'do' like your 3 wheeler.... ;)

  6. My daughter used to be Des Barry's children's nanny! My biking days are over - passed my bike test in 1963 on a Lambretta, the next dayi bought a Norton 350. Big gap (25 years ish) before a 400 Yamaha and various Hondas, the last being a CX500. The motor from a wrecked CX powers my 3wheeler (see my avatar pic), through the drivetrain to the rear wheel. As many other bits from the bike were used, you might say I'm still biking, but with stabilisers....... Malcolm

  7. Well the car is almost finished, al of the panels are done, had a dent man remove 3 small pin dents from the passenger side - did an awesome job wouldn't have even realised there were one there! I've dechromed one side and the front grill. Splitter is back on although not sure for how long, its my daily car and have a feeling it won't last long being that low! All that is left to do are the door shuts, fit the new spacers (25mm on the rear and will move the current 15mm ones to the front) and wait for the rear coilovers to arrive back from the manufacterers. Few pics.....

  8. There aren't many cars that don't look good in black. The new RX looks pretty good in Sonic White though!

  9. Hi and welcome to the LOC, we are a friendly bunch and some of us even know how to pull the to bits and put them back together again, with of course the one bolt and washer left over. Regards Mike.

  10. Bit of an update, the front end is now done! Front bumper was very tricky, ended up removing the headlights completely, refitting the bumper to wrap then removing / fitting lights back. Also repaired, wrapped and refitted the front splitter. Car sits very low at the front now, already scrapped the driveway pulling off of it! Tempted to remove permanently. Also made a new number plate and trimmed down leaving off the numberplate holder. All that is left to do with the passenger side, got a dent man coming tomorrow to remove 2 small parking dings before wrapping, then it will be perfect! Bumper wrapped headlightless! Healights back in ready for refitting. (took a while wrapping each parking sensor individually!) No more chrome at the front! Splitter on Slightly smaller but still legal front plate Needing front wheel spacers! Cheers Chris
