  1. Location / operator - RS Tuning Dyno manufacturer - Dyno Dynamics Dyno setup - Shoot out 8. Cooling fan. Ambient air around 21 deg C Car Setup - Car run in 4th gear, sports mode, manual, full TC system disabled. Bonnet open, engine cover on. Tyres set at 40psi. Highest reading - 419.9BHP flywheel completely standard car. The operator tried a run in 6th and one in 5th too and the figures were lower. He always uses 4th gear for cars like ours so that's what we went with. He was confused as to why the chaps across the pond use 6th gear Used my key and keyring to cover the reg on the graph. Happy with the results, shows the car is in good shape. Having an exhaust system fabricated and fitted in two week so will try and get it on the same dyno in a couple of months to compare the difference.

  2. I've upgraded the firmware on my Premium Nav unit this week: Old version: VD12102F New version: VD12103A According to the release documents, it is mostly bug-fixes but the main one for me was it fixes an issue with the split-screen nav mode where the turn-by-turn icons are displayed empty.

  4. i have found that the rain sensitive wipers technology has improved over the years, years back i found that even on its most sensitive setting it did not clear the windscreen frequently enough for me, but the latest car works perfectly. perhaps try give the windscreen a really good clean, even claying it,

  5. my 430 has rain sensing wipers - its a 04 plate - ive had it over 3 years and they work perfectly - hardly do i have to manually touch the stalk - if lexus had it perfected in 2004 then they have to be perfect in 2009. I am sure someone will come along soon to give you an accurate comparison on how they work on your model

  6. Give the car an occasional ITALIAN TUNE UP.....ie drop from top gear (on say a very clear road) to produce say 3500/4000 revs for up to 1/2 mile or so, so as to clear the exhaust system. I do it a lot in the E class estate. Seems to work for me. Regards John

  8. I was talking to someone about this very thing a couple of days ago, regarding Lexus anyway. Nothing, and I mean nothing ever comes apart easily, even the simplest component seems to require the knowledge of a scientific mind to remove it!

  9. Certainly doesn't hurt but shouldn't really be necessary if the nuts and studs are made of the same metal. More useful on the back of alloy wheels which press against steel hubs/brake discs.

  10. Flywheel power Gib. For me whether flywheel or wheel power it makes no odds, so long as I run the same next time for direct comparison.

  12. Thats interesting about the pricing, in nov 2014 i was quoted over £400 each from lexus Glasgow and i paid £88 each from Amayama, plus postage and import tax. BTW... From experience, use the parking brake more regularly, seriously, Lexus and my subsequent MOT guy both told me ages ago that the parking brake shoes tend to "bind on" as a result of the lack of/occasional use. Most of us stick in P to park up don't we, no parking brake ! ! Then, when the MOT guy tests the parking brake by stamping it on...it sticks, and fails the MOT...and makes for a real shock when £50 or so doesn't cover the mot this time ... was told this was pretty common with RX's ..maybe with other pedal operated parking brakes too !!! The new cable and parts are pretty costly, if i remember its a kind of two piece Y arrangement.

  13. Cheeky sod. Bet your mate wouldn't have said that to the young bloke in the Sopranos who had one. Actually, there are a lot on youtube owned by young blokes in Japan and USA. I'm a lost cause though, I've always loved barges, right from when I first started driving in my teens, Zodiacs, Crestas, zzzzzz, time for my nap.
