  3. Hi guys/gals So I am day one in to owning the IS300H F-Sport edition and very pleased so far with the way it looks as that's pretty much all I have been able to do today is LOOK at it. Blessing being able to work from home on occasion or not?! So I have a couple of issues I hope can be addressed easily; I have a OnePlus Two mobile and for some reason can't work out if or how it can play music from the USB cable attached under the centre console? I go into USB in the Infotainment system and it's not being detected but it does charge the phone. Bluetooth connection seems to work, can play music but can't seem to skip forwards or backwards but can pause and resume from the car. Will be posting some more questions and observations here to keep everything in one topic. Appreciate all your time by the way :)

  4. Ah, well, if only you had bought a big Citroen! Try googling 'Citroen on 3 wheels' to see video. The hydraulics adjust suspension to keep wheel off ground. Folk have reported not noticing flat tyres at 70 mph+!! Loved mine.

  5. No oil or fluid can keep on doing it's job after years and years, my Diff' is getting Redline Synthetic when it stops raining! I think a lot of the problem with these dealerships is they don't really have mechanics anymore they are fitters nowadays.

  6. Which is pretty cheap. If you put it in the basket and follow through with your postcode it will show the import total price. No need to complete. Not sure whihc is right for your Car. I wish I'd checked this out before buying a set of springs.

  7. Actually unbolting and removing the complete strut takes minutes, it's the seat removal and refitting that eats up the time, if you removed the rear seat and parcelshelf yourself before taking it to the garage that would save some labour costs then refit it all back home.

  9. Select Membership on the banner at the top and go from there.... But first: - Check that your dealer does offer discounts to club members. Not all do. (You can check that from the Membership menu at the top) - Check that your dealer will offer you the same extended warranty that you would get if you bought the car from them. I would assume you would, but you never know. I believe that you currently get 3 years for the price of 2 currently... I'm sure others members will correct me if I'm wrong on this By the way, I have no vested interest in promoting membership to the club, but I recommend it because it has served me well to date.

  12. Price seems about right,as I was quoted about £600 to replace all four springs on my dear departed MK3 about five years ago. Hope you get her sorted.

  13. In my experience with GS, self restoring paint works, even if Lexus at the moment is not organized for miracles :-) You can notice this in days with rain: other cars are opaque while Lexus has many little water bubbles on it, the same effect you can notice with cars with wax treatments.

  14. Thats annoying. You may want to check this out as how to replace the spring yourself. I do worry as I have two t'bay replacement springs and that spring is not what I'd expect an original to look like. Maybe I'd better stick with the rusty originals until I have no option but to change. Daresay Lexus quote is Exhoribtant?

  18. @chimneyfog I picked up my IS300H F-Sport today (yesterday as its 1:30am now and can't sleep knowing my new car is sitting on my driveway and I can't play with it properly till daylight!!!) and very happy indeed. I find with cars especially Lexus it's a completely different experience living with one, you just feel special to be driving round in a Lexus where I am not so sure you do in other Marques. The power in Normal mode is impressive and gets you to speed effortlessly. I am yet to properly put it through it's paces but I know I am going to enjoy it :) Hope you get that test drive soon, I never did as was sold on the IS300 when I owned the previous IS220D which yes was a 4 pot diesel and had quirks no doubts this one will show but I love Lexus cars and how they make you feel.

  19. A quick video to show my modified splash screen. I prepped the image in Photoshop then added it to the car via a USB. Its a 25Mb video, so not massive. I did try to reduce the size in Handbrake but it flipped it on its side. And it looks like you have to be logged in to view it. VID_20160707_072026.mp4

  20. Personally I think Black with Black wheels looks a bit too much black!! Will be a ball-ache to maintain as well considering the soft Lexus paint! You cant do the split screen on the basic nav, only available on the Premium Nav. Premium nav also gets you the nav screen instructions in the centre between the dials. Its because the basic nav is simply an add on to the standard system so its not integrated whereas the Premium nav is integrated already. I hope they gave you a good deal as brokers are giving huge chunks of money off - circa £5k!

  21. Yep, how do you bump start a car with a dud starter if it's auto? Battery was dead? Still worth getting that money back.

  22. Our daughter in law just had her car written off (third party's fault) and needed another vehicle, so she asked me to source an RX 300 SE as she loves my wife's one. I'm just back from picking it up from outside Glasgow (99,000 miles with all Lexus and Toyota history with receipts including recent cambelt). Comparing it to my wife's one it is about the same condition which I'd describe as first class, and it drives very similarly, but one thing I noticed was when filling the tank, the read out on miles to empty was 342 as opposed to my wife's which reads 288. On the journey home (including a 40 minute traffic jam) it averaged 30.3 mpg (computer) whereas my wife's one on a similar journey can just get 27mpg. Has anyone else encountered difference like this between similar cars (2004 and 2005 models) - both well serviced incidentally and seem to drive the same. cheers Pete

  23. Surely the words 'spirited driving' and 'London's stop-start traffic' don't go in the same sentence ;) I did some very rough performance runs on our IS300H when we first got it. It's not a slow car, 0-30 is pretty decent mainly because of the electric motor. If you want to drive like a nutter with the foot to the floor your see bad mpg from any car, the IS no worse than any 'normal' car. For London start-stop traffic I cannot think of anything more suitable than a hybrid/EV, especially compared to a diesel. There are now more advanced hybrids around now, the BMW 330e is suppose to be very good whilst delivering decent mpg if you plug it in overnight. Of course if your after the holy grill of amazing mpg and 0-60 times to rival proper sports cars there is one car that will deliver both, I've just confirmed my order :)
