  1. There is some good information on the lexls.com website (note that the fourth letter is "l") Google Lexus LS evolution and this will turn up a link to the relevant section on the lexls.com website (which is LS Generations in the Info section). It was the second entry down when I did a Google search. There is plenty of information on the differences and some pictures.

  2. Hi Everybody, Just bought myself a Lexus and while searching around for stuff about it found this forum. I'll be honest it was a bit of a surprise buy, went to look at a Jag XF at a Lexus dealer and they had this GS450H for about the same price, tried both, both very good but the Lexus seemed a car I'd enjoy driving more. Excuse the photo, in my works car park, and excuse the crude No. plate edit, I'm sure all of you are trustworthy!!! Had it for 3 weeks, great car, very strong acceleration and even with a little heavy right foot still getting about 34mpg, for one slow journey and gentler driving in traffic it gave me 48mpg on a 25 mile trip. From a 3.5l engine isn't bad but it was on battery a lot. After some haggling the dealer threw in 2 years extended Lexus warranty along with their standard 1 year so also has 3 years warranty. The reason for my searching around when I found this forum, I can't find too much about the car, a few road tests, mostly saying the BMW 5 series is better but most auto journalists always seem to fall on the side of German cars, I have owned some and wouldn't agree. Can anyone point me towards any interesting sites, are their accessories, mods etc that are worth looking at? Thanks.

  3. Got 50.1mpg a couple of times in the past week. Highest on a 30 mile run has been 59.2, lowest in sport tearing around on a 20 mile run has been 19mpg. I have a 200 mile round trip to do later next week so will see how that goes doing non motorway there and motorway on the way back.

  4. I have a whining noise coming from the front passenger seat on my IS 250. I sometimes leave her at home when it gets too much. As above advice ^^^^^.

  5. Hi Ian, Further to my earlier post, as mine is a lease car, I used the 12v socket in the armrest, using the plug that came with the camera. All the wiring is hidden behind trim, the only bit that's visible, and then only if you are really looking for it, is a couple of inches as it enters the armrest cubby at the side of the driver's seat. Camera comes on with the ignition, I occasionally check it's recording, but otherwise it's fit and forget, hopefully it'll never be needed........ hope this helps, and that you enjoy your car! 8. Tbh, I will probably go uprated combo seeing as I am going to be swapping out all 4. Price per corner isn't much more with the bigger size from black circles. Ring prep for next month consists of... 4 new tyres new pads on front + dot 4 fluid change oil and filter change Its a weekend at the Ring followed by an open pit lane day at Spa on the Monday. Hopefully will have some tyres left ;-)

  10. Sorry, Richard, but I have no before-and-after pix to show you. Just visualize a fairly dusty car with customary minor summertime cosmetic blemishes, a few insect splatters, small amounts of dirt-spray and brake-dust behind and inside the wheels, all quickly and effortlessly removed (the brake-dust last) with a capful or so of product diluted in a bucket of water, and resulting in satisfactorily glossy, scratch-free (at least to the naked eye), and streak- and smear-free surfaces. Although I have not tried the product on a very dirty car , I would guess that the application and drying steps may well need repeating with a second bucketful to get a perfect result.

  11. Hi, I cant help you with which way you should wire the cam into the car but can give you some insight into the use of the camera and which one to use. Although your brain tells you you should have a screen you soon realise you don't need a screen at all. One of the more expensive dash cams, Road Angel for instance retails for around the £300ish doesn't have one and neither do many of the high end Dash Cams. I purchased one of these HD cameras http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HD-Car-Vehicle-Dash-Dashboard-Camera-DVR-Dual-Cam-CCTV-Night-Vision-Recorder-UK-/281411724403?hash=item4185722473 for around £30 and I was astonished at the quality of the of the recording. The HD picture is amazing. Within 2 days of using the car with the camera you realise the screen is nothing but a pain as its constantly trying to draw your eye and at night I turned it off untill I managed to move the cam behind the rear view mirror which renders the screen useless anyway. Night time recording is brilliant as well. Hope you find this useful. Mike.
